Dauphin Kings head coach Marlin Murray has been suspended for 12 games and the Kings fined an undisclosed amount by the Manitoba Junior Hockey League as a result of Murray's behaviour during a playoff game last Thursday.
MJHL commissioner Kim Davis announced Saturday that Murray will serve two games for receiving a gross misconduct penalty, and was given a 10-game suspension for receiving a match penalty for physical harassment of officials in the same game versus the Winnipeg Saints.
During the incident, which occurred during an MJHL playoff game, an enraged Murray hurled piles of hockey sticks and water bottles, a cooler and other debris from the players bench onto the ice and toward officials.
In a video of the incident that was posted on YouTube, at least one hockey stick appeared to strike the referee on the leg.
