MJHL calls news conference; Saints sale rumoured
The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has announced a press conference will be held on Wednesday in Virden at the Virden Recreation Centre at 11 a.m.
It is expected the sale of the Winnipeg Saints to a group in Virden called Virden Hockey Ventures Inc. will be officially announced.
Rumours regarding the move of the Saints swirled all season but heated up two weeks ago right after the Saints' season ended when the team was defeated in the MJHL championship series by the Portage Terriers.
The only remaining MJHL team in Winnipeg will be the Winnipeg Blues who make their home at the MTS Iceplex.
