Winnipeg Ice's Klassen named player of the week

Forward Alexee Klassen of the Winnipeg Ice has been named the Selkirk Keystone Source for Sports-Reebok player of the week in the Manitoba Female (AAA) Midget Hockey League.

Klassen, a grade 12 student, scored goals in three straight games last week as the Ice went 1-1-1 (win, loss and tie). Klassen scored last Tuesday in a 3-2 loss to the Winnipeg Avros, she scored in last Thursday’s 2-2 tie with the Central Plains Capitals and then notched the game-winning goal last Saturday in a 3-1 victory over the Avros.

Klassen is the scoring leader with the Ice with 19 goals and 28 points in 35 games.
