Alan Quine's hat trick leads Belleville Bulls past Ottawa 67's 8-5

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Alan Quine had three goals and an assist for the Belleville Bulls as they handed the Ottawa 67's an 8-5 loss Wednesday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Scott Simmonds had a pair of goals to go along with singles from Austen Brassard, Brendan Gaunce and Tyler Graovac for the Bulls (36-13-6), who won their seventh straight game.

Jacob Middleton, Mark Petaccio, Ryan Van Stralen, Joseph Blandisi and Dante Salituro all scored for Ottawa (15-39-4), which has now lost five in a row.

Belleville jumped out to a 2-0 start in the first but Middleton cut in to the lead before the period ended with his first OHL-career goal.

There was no shortage of offence in the second period with both teams combining for eight goals. Simmonds highlighted the offensive explosion with back-to-back goals nine seconds apart to break the game open as the Bulls took a 7-4 lead into the third period.

Belleville goaltender Charlie Graham made 31 saves in the win.

Jacob Blair got the start for Ottawa and was pulled in the second period after giving up six goals on 25 shots. Clint Windsor took over and finished the night with 13 saves.
