Bowey scores twice, Chartier nets shootout winner as Rockets beat Royals 4-3
KELOWNA, B.C. - Rourke Chartier scored the shootout winner as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Victoria Royals 4-3 in WHL action on Wednesday night.
Madison Bowey, with two goals, including a game-tying marker with 47.7 seconds remaining in the game, and Jesse Lees scored for Kelowna (47-16-4).
Jamie Crooks, with his 32nd goal of the season, Jack Walker and Austin Carroll, at 18:45 of the third to make it 3-2, replied for Victoria (32-27-7). The Royals scored twice in the second to level the score at 2-2 after 40 minutes.
Coleman Vollrath stopped 27 shots for the Royals, who lost 6-0 in Kamloops on Tuesday night.
Jordon Cooke made 20 saves for the Rockets, who play a home-and-home set with Kamloops this Friday and Saturday.
