Brycen Martin scores in OT as Broncos beat struggling Wheat Kings 3-2
BRANDON, Man. - Rookie defenceman Brycen Martin scored his second goal of the season at 1:05 into overtime as the Swift Current Broncos edged the Brandon Wheat Kings 3-2 Wednesday in Western Hockey League action.
It's the Wheat Kings (21-37-6) fifth loss in a row.
Richard Nedomlel and Ryon Moser scored in the first period to give the Broncos (30-27-7) a 2-0 lead.
Quintin Lisoway scored for Brandon in the second period, and Taylor Cooper tied it on the power play at 14:26 of the third period.
Corbin Boes stopped 31 shots for the Wheat Kings, while Swift Current goalie Eetu Laurikainen made 20 saves.
The Broncos were 0 for 3 on the power play, while Brandon was 1 for 4.
