Cody Ceci's back-to-back goals lift Attack to 3-2 OHL win over Petes
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Cody Ceci scored two goals to lead the Owen Sound Attack to a 3-2 win over the Peterborough Petes in OHL play Monday afternoon.
Kyle Hope added a goal and an assist for Owen Sound (36-17-4) while Nick Ritchie and Stephen Pierog each had a goal and an assist for Peterborough (20-30-7).
The Attack outshot the Petes 24-11 in the first period but couldn't beat Peterborough goalie Andrew D'Agostini, who recorded 44 saves in the game.
After a scoreless first period, the teams combined for all five of the game's goals in the second.
Ceci scored back-to-back goals, the second on the power play. Hope connected at 13:26 to give the Attack a 3-0 lead.
The Petes battled back, with Ritchie and Pierog scoring less than two minutes apart to cut the deficit to 3-2 heading into the third period.
It was then Brandon Hope's turn to weather the storm as Peterborough dominated the final period, firing 16 shots at Hope while only allowing five. Hope finished with 34 saves and the win.
