Dylen McKinlay has two goals, assist as Rockets beat Thunderbirds 4-1

KELOWNA, B.C. - Dylen McKinlay had two goals and an assist as the Kelowna Rockets beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 in WHL action on Thursday night.

Myles Bell, with his team-leading 35th goal of the season, and Tyson Baillie also scored for Kelowna (45-15-4), which won its third straight game.

Seth Swenson, with his 16th goal of the season, replied for Seattle (21-35-8).

McKinlay made it 1-0 just 16 seconds into the first period, with Bell making it 2-0 at 4:09 of the second.

At 9:43, McKinlay knifed in a short-handed marker to make it 3-0 and Baillie rounded out the scoring at 19:31 of the third with an empty-net goal.

Swenson's goal came at 7:20 of the third period.

Jordon Cooke turned aside 17 shots for the Rockets, who host the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday.

Danny Mumaugh stopped 20 shots for the Thunderbirds, who visit the Tri-City Americans on Friday.
