Feser's big night leads Tri-City Americans over Vancouver Giants 5-4

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Justin Feser scored at even strength, on the power play and short-handed Tuesday as the Tri-City Americans defeated the Vancouver Giants 5-4 in the Western Hockey League.

Feser, who also had an assist in recording his seventh career hat trick, opened his account with a power-play goal in the first before scoring at even strength in the second and short-handed in the third.

Rookie Jackson Houck scored two goals for Vancouver, the second coming with 2:17 left in game to pull the Giants within 5-4.

The Giants pulled goalie Jared Rathjen with 1:08 left to play, but could not get the equalizer.

Malte Stromwall and Parker Bowles also scored for Tri-City (34-22-3), which has won three in a row and moved into fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

Troy Trombley recorded 27 saves for his third win in as many starts.

Blake Orban and Cain Franson added goal for the Giants (15-44-2), who have lost three in a row. Rathjen finished with 24 saves.
