Hicketts, Fransoo supply offence as Royals defeat Silvertips
VICTORIA - Joe Hicketts and Jordan Fransoo each scored two goals as the Victoria Royals defeated the visiting Everett Silvertips 4-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Despite the loss, Everett clinched the final playoff spot in the Western Conference after the Prince George Cougars were defeated by the Kamloops Blazers.
Steven Hodges picked up three assists for the Royals (34-30-7), who halted their three-game winless streak, and Coleman Vollrath made 19 saves for the victory.
Joshua Winquist scored the lone goal for the Silvertips (24-40-6) and Austin Lotz made 28 saves in defeat.
Victoria went 1 for 4 on the power play while Everett failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
