Houck scores twice as Giants beat Royals
VANCOUVER - Jackson Houck scored twice in the third period as the Vancouver Giants downed the visiting Victoria Royals 3-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Carter Popoff scored in the first period for the Giants (20-47-2), who made up for a 5-3 loss against Victoria on Friday.
Jamie Crooks scored the lone goal for the Royals (33-28-7), who have dropped 12 of their last 13 games.
Payton Lee made 19 saves for the win as Coleman Vollrath turned away 37-of-39 shots in defeat.
Vancouver went the entire game without a power play while Victoria scored on its only chance with the man advantage.
