Kurtis Gabriel scores in OT, Owen Sound wins fourth in a row, 3-2 over Barrie

BARRIE, Ont. - Kurtis Gabriel scored in overtime as the Owen Sound Attack edged the Barrie Colts 3-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Zach Nastasiuk and Daniel Zweep also scored for Owen Sound (37-17-4), which won its fourth game in a row.

Nastasiuk opened the scoring nine seconds into the second period.

Mark Scheifele tied it for Barrie (36-18-4) with the first of his two goals at 8:11 of the second period. Zweep put the Attack in front at the 8:43 mark, and Scheifele tied it again for Barrie at 16:44 of the second period.

The loss prevented the Colts from passing idle Belleville for first place in the Eastern Conference.

Neither team could find any success on the power play, as both Barrie and Owen Sound went 0-for-3.

Jordan Binnington turned aside 25 shots for the Attack, while Barrie’s Mathias Niederberger stopped 38 shots.
