Miceli has career-high five points as Tigres down Cataractes

Angelo Miceli had a career-high five points Saturday as the Victoriaville Tigres downed the host Shawinigan Cataractes 5-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The 18-year-old centre scored three goals and added two assists, and now has 31 goals and 72 points in 59 games to lead his club. His performance also extended his point streak to a season-best six games and includes eight goals and five assists.

Defenceman Petr Sidlik scored once and set up three more for the Tigres (27-24-8), who have won four-of-five games this season against their East Division rival, while Philippe Maillet scored a single goal.

Kris Hodge and Felix-Antoine Bergeron each had a goal and an assist for the Cataractes (14-38-7), who are now winless in five games.

Victoriaville's Brandon Whitney made 16 saves for the win as Shawinigan's Hugo Campeau took the loss after allowing five goals on 21 shots in 40 minutes of action. Marvin Cupper replaced Campeau to start the third period and stopped all eight shots he faced in relief.

Miceli tied the game 1:45 into the period and then scored the eventual winner at 8:18.

Sidlik added the Tigres' second power-play goal of the game just 32 seconds later before Miceli added his third goal at 17:40.
