QMJHL Roundup: Lalonde leads Wildcats in 12-2 romp over Screaming Eagles
Christophe Lalonde and the Moncton Wildcats showed no mercy on Tuesday.
Lalonde had two power-play goals and added three assists as Moncton rocked the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 12-2 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Ryan Penny and Conor Garland both had hat tricks for the Wildcats (38-20-1), who won their fourth in a row.
Moncton raced out to an 11-0 lead, with six goals in the second period.
Cape Breton (12-40-8) didn't get on the scoreboard until Nick Marois's power-play goal at the 10:27 mark of the third.
David Honzik got the start in the Screaming Eagles' net but was pulled after giving up eight goals on 30 shots. Alex Bureau made six saves on 10 shots in relief.
Cole Holowenko earned the win with 21 saves.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Quebec 5, Chicoutimi 3; and Val-d'Or 4 Rouyn-Noranda 3.
At Moncton, N.B., Alex Saulnier scored twice, while Ivan Barbashev and Dmitrij Jaskin added singles for the Wildcats.
Justin Hache had Cape Breton's other goal, also on the power play.
Remparts 5, Sagueneens 3
At Quebec City, Zachary Fortin made 32 saves to earn the win as the Remparts (36-20-4) skated past Chicoutimi (26-28-7).

Foreurs 4, Huskies 3
At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Anthony Richard had the winner as Val-d'Or (34-24-3) scored three unanswered goals in the third period to rally past the Huskies (34-22-4).
