Schumacher scores twice as Greyhounds down Rangers
SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Michael Schumacher scored twice and set up one more as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defeated the visiting Kitchener Rangers 6-4 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.
Andrew Fritsch and Jared McCann each had a goal and two assists for the Greyhounds (36-25-6) while Darnell Nurse and Dylan Staples scored the others.
Ben Thomson led the Rangers (39-20-9) with two goals and an assist and Owen Stewart and Joshua Leivo had a goal apiece.
Matt Murray made 35 saves for the win as Joel Vienneau turned away 32 shots in a losing cause.
Sault Ste. Marie went 2 for 6 on the power play while Kitchener failed to score on its only chance with the man advantage.
