Stefan Noesen scores hat trick as Whalers hammer Sting 10-2
SARNIA, Ont. - Stefan Noesen scored a hat trick as the Plymouth Whalers cruised to a 10-2 win over the Sarnia Sting in OHL play Monday.
Connor Carrick and Tom Wilson helped the Whalers (32-16-9) to their sixth straight win with a goal and two assists each, while Gianluca Curcuruto added three assists.
Austin Levi, Ryan Hartman, Rickard Rakell, Cody Payne and Matt Mistele also scored for the Whalers.
Alex Basso had both goals for the Sting (32-23-3), one short-handed and one on a power play.
The Whalers outshot the Sting 51-15. Starter J.P. Anderson allowed five goals on 21 shots before he was replaced by backup Knick Dawe, who gave up five goals on 30 shots.
Whalers rookie Alex Nedeljkovic got the win with 13 saves.
Plymouth was 3-for-6 on the power play while the Sting went 1-for-5.
