Williams stops 37 shots as Chiefs extend win streak to five games

VICTORIA - Eric Williams turned away 37-of-39 shots as the Spokane Chiefs edged the host Victoria Royals 3-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Blake Gal, Alessio Bertaggia and Todd Fiddler scored for the Chiefs (39-24-2), who extended their win streak to five games.

Ben Walker and Jack Walker had a goal and an assist each for the Royals (32-26-2), who are winless in nine games, and Logan Nelson had two assists.

Patrik Polivka stopped 26 shots in defeat.

Spokane went 1 for 1 on the power play while Victoria scored once on five chances with the man advantage.
