Winther scores twice, Siemens makes 41 saves to lead Raiders over Warriors 4-1
MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Mike Winther scored twice and Luke Siemens made 41 saves Tuesday as the Prince Albert Raiders defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors 4-1 in the Western Hockey League.
Dakota Conroy and Jayden Hart had the other goals for the Raiders (34-23-6), while Mark McNeill chipped in with three assists.
Brayden Point had the only goal for the Warriors (21-33-9), who got 24 saves from Justin Paulic in a losing effort.
Leading 1-0 after the first period on a goal from Conroy, Winther doubled the Prince Albert lead at 7:43 of the second.
Point got Moose Jaw on the board at 6:40 of the third period, but Hart restored the Raiders' two-goal advantage with a power-play goal at 10:43.
Winther then put the game out of reach with his second of the night at 14:49.
McNeill assisted on the last three Prince Albert goals.
The Raiders finished the night 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Warriors were scoreless in their three opportunities with the man advantage.
