"You look at a guy like (Marian) Gaborik in Minnesota, it looked like he always did pretty well," Parise told the Bergen Record. "He always put up good numbers there (under Lemaire). So I don't think anybody is going to be held back, by any means. I don't think anybody is going to be held back from their strength. I just have a hard time believing that would be the way it is. Just looking at a guy like Gaborik, he scored 40-something goals in a year. So, hopefully, the offence will still be there."
Parise cracked the 40-goal mark for the first time in his career last season, potting 45 goals and adding 49 assists in 82 games. He scored 32 and 31 goals the two previous seasons.

The Calgary Flames confirmed the signing of free agent defenceman Staffan Kronwall to a two-year contract worth $1 million. He suited up for three games with the Washington Capitals last season... According to the Arizona Republic, the city of Glendale, Ariz., has spent almost US$230,000 in legal and other fees trying to keep the Phoenix Coyotes.
