Blues, Jackets swap defencemen
ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues added one of new coach Ken Hitchcock's favourites from his former team, acquiring D-man Kris Russell from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Blue Jackets got defenceman Nikita Nikitin in a deal after the Blues' 3-2 OT loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night that wasn't made official until Friday.

Flames' Hagman sent to Heat
CALGARY -- The Calgary Flames assigned forward Niklas Hagman to the AHL's Abbotsford Heat on Friday.
Hagman has struggled this season with a goal and three assists in eight games with Calgary. He had 11 goals and 16 assists in 71 contests with the Flames last season.
