Goalie Martin Brodeur misses Devils' game against Jets, team says had 'a little soreness'

NEWARK, N.J. - New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur left the ice during warmups before the Devils' game against the Winnipeg Jets and was replaced in the lineup by Johan Hedberg.

The Devils said the 40-year-old Brodeur, the NHL's career leader in victories and shutouts, had "a little soreness." He was spotted Friday icing his right shoulder, but the team wouldn't comment on the injury.

Hedberg was in goal Saturday night in the Devils' 5-1 loss to Washington.
