Leafs send defenceman Komisarek to Marlies, bring up forward Hamilton
TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs assigned Mike Komisarek to the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies on Thursday after the defenceman cleared waivers.
Komisarek was a healthy scratch for all but four of the Maple Leafs' games this season.
The 31-year-old is in the fourth season of a five-year deal that pays him an average of US$4.5 million.
The Leafs called up forward Ryan Hamilton from the Marlies. In 56 AHL games this season, Hamilton leads the club in goals (30), points (48), power-play goals (seven), short-handed goals (three), shots (116), and shooting percentage (25.9 per cent).
