Smith blanks high-powered Sharks:
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Mike Smith figured he would be tested by the big and physical San Jose Sharks. The Phoenix Coyotes goalie made 33 saves through overtime and then turned aside two more shots in the shootout to carry the Coyotes to a 1-0 win over the Sharks on Saturday.
Oilers prospect returns after chemo:
Edmonton Oilers prospect Brandon Davidson returned from testicular cancer on Friday night. He suited up for his first action since Oct. 28. "It was very emotional, coming out and hearing the fans," Davidson, 21, told reporters after the Oklahoma City Barons' American Hockey League win. His treatment included removal of the cancerous tissue and one round of chemotherapy.
