Schoolgirl's jersey right one in Ottawa

  • Print

OTTAWA -- Last week, Keila Penner was told to remove her Ottawa Senators jersey when she went to her Montreal-area school.

On Tuesday, the 11-year-old hockey fan was watching from Senators' owner Eugene Melnyk's personal suite as Ottawa hosted the Montreal Canadiens in Game 4 of their first-round NHL playoff series.

Keila's father, Cary, grew up in Ottawa and is a die-hard Sens fan. Keila grew up as one too, even though the family now lives in Lachine, Que., near Montreal.

The Senators brought Keila and her family from Lachine by limo for the game and presented her with a new jersey -- autographed by the whole team -- to wear at Tuesday's game.
