NHL impasse Day 3
TIDBITS of info surrounding NHL labour impasse on Monday:
QUOTABLE
"If the (NHL) continues to insist on their (demands), then it will take a full year. That's because we are not going to cave in. Then I will spend the entire season in the KHL. It's an absolute reality."
-- Alex Ovechkin in an interview with Sovietsky Sport.
NOTABLE
Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators will not be feeling the sting of the lockout. His new deal is worth $14 million for 2012-13, of which $13 million was in the form of signing bonuses.
BAD NEWS
The Ottawa Senators have temporarily laid off more than 10 employees and did not renew deals of contract workers.
