Winger Jannik Hansen finds scoring touch despite Vancouver Canucks slump

VANCOUVER - Despite the Canucks' recent struggles, Jannik Hansen is finding his scoring touch and earning coach Alain Vigneault's confidence.

The Vancouver winger scored the tying goal Tuesday in Vancouver's 3-2 shootout loss to San Jose, stretching his goal-scoring streak to three games.

He was also given an opportunity in the shootout — his first career attempt — but was stopped by Sharks goalie Antii Niemi.

Hansen had a goal and an assist Saturday and Sunday to go with his sixth of the season Tuesday. Vancouver is 3-5-2 in its past 10 games after starting the season 8-2-2

"(Mason Raymond, Chris Higgins) and I are finding a way to feed off each other and right now the puck is finding a way through," said Hansen of his linemates.

Raymond assisted on Hansen's goal Tuesday and set him up on Saturday's goal as well.

"He's seeing the ice very well," said Raymond. "He works so hard. He's getting good looks. It's good to see the success he's having, getting rewarded, with being a new dad."

Hansen's scoring streak has come in conjunction with the birth of his twin boys, Daniel and Lucas, born Sunday.

As to how his newest fans are doing, all he could say was: "There’s been no issues so far, it’s smooth sailing."
