El Grayling a favourite in Monday derby
El Grayling, a dapple grey colt trained by Emile Corbel, is the early favourite at probable odds of 2-1 to take the $75,000, 1 1/8 miles Manitoba Lotteries Derby on Monday.
El Grayling, who will be ridden by Assiniboia Downs leadoing jockey David Lopez, is in tough company, however.
At 3-1 is Hammers Bullet with Mark Anderson up, and at 5-1 it's Gotatigerbythetail with Rohan Singh in the irons.
Any one of those three-year-olds can handle the distance.
Rounding out the field are: Big Blue Caboose (Jocelyne Kenny), Flexiplus (Rocco Bowen), OK Indy (Perry Winters), Pulgarcito (Tyrone Nelson), Tannat (Dean Butler) and U R Burning Daylite (Ry Eikleberry).
The first race goes to post at 1 pm.
