Back in August at Team Canada’s orientation camp, I put together the following story on how I thought Team Canada would look when its roster was officially announced. GM Steve Yzerman will announce his team in five days on January 7. Here’s my original piece and an updated prediction list.
There’s lots of hockey to be played between then and now but here’s my hunch on how the team will look. Obviously this is all subject to change due to injury and production. Canada will carry three goalies, eight defence and 14 forwards.
Mike Smith comes off and Josh Harding goes on
Marc Staal comes off and Marc-Edouard Vlasic goes on
Richards, Nash and Staal come off my list.
Patrick Sharp, Chris Kunitz and Matt Duchene go on.
