Wrestling on program for inaugural European Games in Baku in 2015
LAUSANNE, Switzerland - Wrestling will be included in the inaugural European Games as it seeks to restore its place in the Olympics.
Nenad Lalovic, acting president of governing body FILA, signed a "letter of understanding" Tuesday with organizers of the 2015 Games in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The competition will include men's and women's freestyle and Greco-Roman events and serve as a qualifying event for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
FILA, under former president Raphael Martinetti, had previously indicated it would not take part in the European Games. Lalovic took over when Martinetti resigned after the IOC executive board dropped wrestling last month from the 2020 Olympics.
The European Games will include 18 sports.
