Japan hooker Shota Horie re-signs with Melbourne Rebels for 2015 Super Rugby season

  • Print

MELBOURNE, Australia - Japan hooker Shota Horie has re-signed with Australian side the Melbourne Rebels for a third Super Rugby season.

Horie, 28, has played 17 matches for the Rebels since arriving at the club in 2013. He will return to play in the Japanese Top League for champions the Panasonic Wild Knights in the off-season before returning to Melbourne next year.

Horie, aiming to represent Japan at his second Rugby World Cup in England next year, said he wanted more on-field time in the Super Rugby tournament: "Super Rugby is a very difficult competition and this year we haven't won enough games. I want to win more Super Rugby games at the Rebels and I want more Super Rugby game time."

The Rebels have already missed out on the Super Rugby playoffs.
