Sera, Torfason pin down gold medals on weekend

ELIZABETH SERA and Aislynn Torfason, both formerly of the Winnipeg Wrestling Club, grappled for bronze medals at the Ontario Universities Association regional qualifier for the CIS Championships in Calgary Feb. 27-28, over the weekend.Sera, who is now wrestling for London Western Mustangs, won her bronze medal in the 59 kilogram weight class with two wins and a loss. There were five girls in Liz's weight class.

Wrestling for Lakehead University now, Torfason, won bronze in the 63-kg weight class (above her normal weight class), after coming off a serious injury which kept her out of the gym and off the mat for the last two weeks.
