Quebec tennis player facing sex charges in Florida released on bond
A Quebec tennis player facing five charges for allegedly soliciting sex from a 13-year-old girl has been released on bond from a Florida jail.
Tony Dwarika, a booking clerk at the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, says Pierre-Ludovic Duclos posted the $33,000 bond in court today.
Duclos, 27, is Quebec's highest-ranked tennis player.
He was arrested on Thursday as part of an elaborate sting by police and now faces the charges in Bradenton, Fla.
Police in Manatee County say Duclos allegedly texted lewd photos of himself to the girl.
According to the Bradenton Herald, Duclos cannot have contact with the girl or anyone younger than 16, must stay within the state of Florida and must surrender his passport.
He is charged with using a computer to solicit a child to commit sexual acts; enticing a child; lewd and lascivious battery; transmission of material harmful to minors; and travelling to meet a minor after using a computer to lure a child.
Duclos is a Quebec City native who is currently 610th in the ATP tour rankings.
According to an online court record, Duclos was represented by a public defender.
His next date was set for March 22 at the Manatee County Judicial Center in Bradenton.
