BARCELONA, Spain - Athletic Bilbao forward Ibai Gomez set up two headed goals to help rout Levante 3-0 as the Basque side won its home opener in the Spanish league on Saturday.

Bilbao's victory at San Mames Stadium capped a week that included it reaching the Champions League group phase for the first time in 16 years.

Aritz Aduriz scored twice against Napoli to spark Wednesday's 3-1 comeback to secure its place in Europe's top-tier club, and the striker opened the scoring against Levante in the 32nd when he glanced in Ibai's in-swinging corner kick.

Bilbao's dominance continued into the second half, when Ibai picked out Ander Iturraspe to double the hosts' advantage in the 51st before Iker Muniain scored in the 76th.

Also, Celta Vigo drew 1-1 at promoted Cordoba.
