England to miss winger Theo Walcott for World Cup qualifier after injuring hip in training

LONDON - England will be without Theo Walcott for the crucial World Cup qualifier against Montenegro on Tuesday after the Arsenal winger tore his pelvic muscle while training with the national team.

Walcott, who was also ruled out of Friday's qualifying win over San Marino, will fly back to England on Saturday and be assessed by his club's medical staff.

"Theo overstretched slightly crossing a ball and immediately felt a slight problem in the pelvic area," England coach Roy Hodgson said Friday after the 8-0 win over San Marino.

"It ... will keep him out on Tuesday but hopefully won't keep him out for much longer."

Arsenal hosts Reading in the Premier League on March 30.
