Everton beats Norwich 2-0 to move into Champions League positions in Premier League
LIVERPOOL, England - Everton strengthened its claims for a top-four finish in the Premier League by beating Norwich 2-0 thanks to goals by Gareth Barry and Kevin Mirallas on Saturday.
Barry scored his 50th goal in England's top division with a fine strike from just outside the area in the 23rd minute, and Mirallas wrapped up the points with a curling free kick just before the hour mark.
Everton will spend the night in fourth place — the final Champions League spot — after leapfrogging Merseyside rival Liverpool, which plays Stoke away on Sunday.
Robert Snodgrass hit the post late on for Norwich, which hasn't won in six league matches.
Everton paraded new recruit Aiden McGeady before kickoff after signing the Ireland winger from Spartak Moscow.
