Fiorentina and Italy forward Giuseppe Rossi to have a 4th operation on his right knee

FLORENCE, Italy - Fiorentina forward Giuseppe Rossi will have a fourth operation on his right knee after suffering further problems.

Tests last month revealed signs of excessive pressure being put on his right knee.

On Monday, Fiorentina says Rossi has seen a specialist in London and will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee to try and diagnose the problem.

The operation will take place this week, after a consultation — asked for by Rossi — with the assistant of the Colorado-based Dr. Richard Steadman, who carried out the previous operations.

Rossi was left out of Italy's World Cup squad after returning from a four-month injury layoff shortly before the tournament in Brazil.
