Fulham ends 13 seasons in Premier League with last-gasp draw against Crystal Palace
LONDON - Fulham ended 13 seasons in the Premier League with a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace, thanks to Chris David's wonder strike in stoppage time for the already relegated hosts.
The Dutch winger drove the ball onto the underside of the crossbar and into the net from 30 yards (meters) out with just seconds left of the London derby at Craven Cottage.
Dwight Gayle had struck in each half to put the Eagles on the brink of victory as they wrapped up a campaign that seemed destined to end in relegation until Tony Pulis' arrival in November. Palace finished 11th and it is Fulham which will be playing in the second tier next season.
Apart from a high-quality goal by Cauley Woodrow within a determined 15-minute spell and David's wonderfully-struck equalizer, it was a dismal end to Fulham's stay in the top flight.
