GENOA, Italy - Genoa has signed Chile forward Mauricio Pinilla from Serie A rival Cagliari.

Pinilla passed a medical at Genoa on Thursday morning before taking part in his first training session with his new teammates in the afternoon.

No details of the length of contract or the transfer price have been released.

Pinilla spent two-and-a-half seasons at Cagliari after joining from Palermo, initially on a loan deal, in January 2012.

The 30-year-old Pinilla played in all four of Chile's matches at this summer's World Cup, missing a penalty in the shootout loss to host nation Brazil in the round of 16.
