Ghana FA says will report Zambia to FIFA over 'false' claims over car park training
ACCRA, Ghana - The Ghana Football Association says it will report Zambia's FA to FIFA for "false" claims that its squad was forced to train in a car park outside the stadium before the countries' crucial World Cup qualifier on Friday.
Ghana won 2-1 in the southern city of Kumasi to progress to Africa's decisive 10-team playoffs, eliminating the Zambians from World Cup contention.
The GFA says the problems on the eve of the match arose after Zambia's squad arrived to train at Baba Yara Stadium two hours late and "opted" to work out near their team bus and close to a group of Ghana supporters because the venue was locked. The GFA accused the FAZ of a "desperate bid to paint Ghana in a bad light" and attempting to provoke home fans.
