Hertha Berlin playmaker Alexander Baumjohann to miss months with knee injury

  • Print

BERLIN - Hertha Berlin midfielder Alexander Baumjohann will be out for at least six months after tearing ligaments in his right knee for the second time in a year.

The Bundesliga club says the playmaker was injured in practice last week and the seriousness of the injury became clear only after additional tests.

Baumjohann missed seven months after injuring his right knee one year ago.

The club says central defender Sabastian Langkamp injured his ankle in practice on Tuesday. Hertha was unable to say immediately how serious the injury was, but coach Jos Luhukay says Langkamp "has a lot of pain, I fear the worst."
