Jackson Martinez nets brace to give FC Porto 2-1 win over Rio Ave

LISBON, Portugal - Porto striker Jackson Martinez made up for a missed penalty by scoring twice in a 2-1 comeback win at home over Rio Ave on Saturday.

The victory gave Porto a three-point overnight lead at the top of the Portuguese standings before Benfica plays Pacos Ferreira.

Martinez's 33rd-minute penalty was saved by goalkeeper Jan Obliak before Bruno Braga put Rio Ave ahead five minutes later.

Martinez levelled with a spot kick two minutes into first-half stoppage time after defender Marcelo was called for a hand ball in the area.

The Colombia international sealed Porto's 16th win in 20 rounds with a second goal in the 77th to take his league-leading tally to 22 goals.

Also, Braga cemented its hold on fourth place by beating Guimaraes 3-2.
