Kashima beats Sendai 3-2 in J-League, giving Toninho Cerezo 1st win upon return as manager

KASHIMA, Japan - Brazilian striker Davi scored twice Saturday as Kashima Antlers beat Vegalta Sendai 3-2 to give manager Toninho Cerezo his first win since returning to the club after an absence of more than seven years.

Davi gave the hosts the lead from a header in the 29th minute, but Sendai levelled 30 seconds after the break with Yoshiaki Ota's first goal of the campaign.

Almost immediately, Yuya Osako and Davi scored within a three-minute span to give Kashima a two-goal advantage. Wilson pulled one back for the visitors in the 67th minute.

Cerezo coached Kashima from 2000-05 before being replaced by Brazilian compatriot Paulo Autuori.

In other games, Marquinhos scored a hat trick to lead Yokohama F Marinos to a 5-0 thrashing of Shimizu S-Pulse. The Brazilian also scored twice on opening weekend.

FC Tokyo remained perfect by defeating Emperor's Cup holders Kashiwa Reysol 3-0 courtesy of two goals from Kazuma Watanabe.

Cerezo Osaka beat Ventforet Kofu 2-1, while Kawasaki Frontale and Oita Trinita finished 1-1.

Omiya Ardija picked up its first victory of the campaign with a 1-0 win against Jubilo Iwata. Urawa Reds followed up its season-opening win over champions Hiroshima with a 1-0 victory against Nagoya Grampus thanks to Tomoya Ugajin's 54th-minute strike.

Defending champion Sanfrecce Hiroshima beat Albirex Niigata 2-1 for its first win of the season.
