Lazio midfielder Ederson to miss rest of season, needs surgery on thigh injury

  • Print

ROME - Lazio midfielder Ederson is to have surgery on detached tendons in his right thigh and will miss the rest of the season.

Ederson sustained the injury in Sunday's 3-2 win at Udinese and club doctor Roberto Bianchini says the Brazilian will be out for five to six months.

Ederson spent several months on the sidelines when at French club Lyon after needing surgery for a similar injury to his left thigh.

Bianchini says Ederson has asked to see the same specialist who operated on him then and will return to Lyon for treatment.

The 28-year-old Ederson has made 15 appearances for Lazio this season, scoring once.
