Olympiakos beats Aris 2-1 to retain 16-point lead in Greek league with 7 rounds remaining

ATHENS, Greece - Rafik Djebbour and Yannis Maniatis scored in the first half to lead Olympiakos to a 2-1 victory over Aris in the Greek league on Sunday.

Djebbour opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a close-range shot for his league-leading 18th goal. Maniatis added to Olympiakos' lead in the 37th with a shot from the edge of the area.

Nikos Angeloudis pulled one back for Aris in the 65th.

Olympiakos is 16 points ahead of second-place Asteras with seven rounds to play. Asteras, which beat Levadiakos 1-0 on Sunday, is a point ahead of PAOK, which won 3-1 over Kerkyra on Saturday.

Also Sunday, Platanias beat AEK Athens 2-1, Panionios defeated Panthrakikos 2-0 and Atromitos vs. Giannena ended in a scoreless draw.
