ATHENS, Greece - Marcus Berg set up two goals in the first half and scored one in the second to help Panathinaikos defeat host Veria 3-1 in the Greek league Sunday.

Viktor Klonaridis and Abdul Ajagun scored from Berg's assists. El Fardou Ben Nabouhane had temporarily equalized for Veria.

The win kept Panathinaikos in fourth place and allowed it to come within a point of third-place Atromitos, which drew 0-0 at last-place Aris. Veria is next-to-last, six points above Aris. Leader Olympiakos, which beat Levadiakos 2-0 Saturday, is 11 points clear of second-place PAOK, which lost 2-0 to Panionios on Saturday, and 19 points ahead of Atromitos.

Also, Asteras won 2-1 at Apollon, Kalloni beat Giannena by the same score and Xanthi came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Ergotelis.
