Real Madrid to host Atletico Madrid in Copa del Rey final on May 17

MADRID - The Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and crosstown rival Atletico Madrid will be played on May 17 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The Spanish football federation announced the game's location and the change of date from May 18 on Friday.

Both teams will be alloted the same number of tickets for their fans.

With Atletico and Madrid both trailing Barcelona in the Spanish league by double digits, this will likely be their only chance at an important domestic title this season.

Atletico will also be looking to break Madrid's longstanding dominance in their rivalry. Madrid hasn't lost to Atletico since 1999.
