BEUNOS AIRES, Argentina - River Plate missed out on claiming a share of the Argentine league lead after struggling to a 1-1 draw with Rosario Central on Sunday.

A victory would have given River the joint lead with Estudiantes, which has won its first two matches to open the Clausura season, the second tournament of Argentina's split season.

Manuel Lanzini scored in the third minute for River Plate, with Carlos Luna equalizing in the 28th.

In other results Sunday it was: Gimnasia 3, Newell's 0; Lanus 0, Atletico Rafaela 3.

Newell's has only one point from two matches, and Arsenal and Quilmes have lost their first two.

On Saturday it was: All Boys 0, Estudiantes 1; Arsenal 1, Velez Sarsfield 3; Tigre 0, Olimpo 0; Colon 1, Argentinos Juniors 0; San Lorenzo 1, Racing Club 0.

Godoy Cruz defeated Quilmes on Friday 2-0.
