Scotland to host England football friendly 2 months after independence referendum

  • Print

LONDON - Scotland will host England for a friendly match exactly two months after the country stages a referendum on whether to break away from Britain.

The Nov. 18 game at Celtic Park will be England's first fixture away at its northern neighbour in 15 years. It is the return fixture after Roy Hodgson's England side beat the Auld Enemy 3-2 last year at Wembley Stadium as part of the Football Association's 150th anniversary celebrations.

Scots will vote on Sept. 18 on whether to leave their 300-year-old union with England and become an independent country.
