UDINE, Italy - Udinese has signed French striker Cyril Thereau from fellow Serie A side Chievo Verona.

Thereau, who is new coach Andrea Stramaccioni's first signing, has penned a four-year deal at Udinese, tying him to the club until July 2018.

He will join his new teammates when Udinese begins preseason training on July 7.

The 31-year-old Thereau scored seven goals in 32 league appearances for Chievo last season as it narrowly avoided relegation.

Thereau joined Chievo from Belgian side Charleroi in 2010.

Stramaccioni replaced Francesco Guidolin this month after the veteran coach retired.

Udinese finished the Serie A in 13th place.
