Watson, Castillo score as 10-man Dallas beats Real Salt Lake 2-1 to tie for top of West

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas made it a three-way tie atop the standings of Major League Soccer's Western Conference by winning 2-1 at home against Real Salt Lake on Friday despite playing the second half a man down.

Dallas extended its undefeated streak to 10 games and joined Real Salt Lake — which lost for the first time in seven matches — and Seattle on 42 points apiece. Dallas has played 25 games, Salt Lake 24 and Seattle 23.

The hosts lost Blas Perez t0 his second yellow card of the match in the 45th minute for simulation, but scored five minutes after halftime when Je-Vaugan Watson had a corner rebound off his chest and into the back of the net. Fabian Castillo outran the defence in the 74th minute and slotted a ball inside the far post for a 2-0 lead.

Olmes Garcia scored on a deflected bicycle kick in stoppage time for Real Salt Lake.
